Klassik Solitaire

Klassik Solitaire is Klondike, the game most people simply call Solitaire. Cards are dealt into seven columns, and the goal is to move all 52 cards to four foundations from Ace to King.

It is made for playing, not for watching ads: there are no ads, no ad networks and no analytics. Play Draw 1 or Draw 3, choose a left- or right-handed layout and pick the card size that is easiest to read. You can undo moves, and an unfinished game continues where you left off.

One game a day is free. A one-time purchase unlocks unlimited play, with no subscription. The game is in English, German, French, Spanish and Portuguese.

Klondike is played with a standard 52-card deck without jokers. These are the rules as they work in Klassik Solitaire.

Move every card to the four foundations. Each foundation starts with an Ace and is built up in the same suit: Ace, 2, 3 … King.

• 7 tableau columns: the first gets 1 card, the second 2, and so on up to 7 cards in the seventh. The top card of each column is face up, the rest face down.
• Stock: the remaining 24 cards stay face down as the stock.
• Waste: cards turned from the stock go to the waste pile, and its top card can be played.
• 4 foundations: empty spaces where the cards are collected by suit.

• Build tableau columns down in alternating colours, for example a black 8 on a red 9.
• A run of face-up cards can be moved as a whole to another column when its lowest card fits there.
• When a face-down card is uncovered, it is turned over.
• Only a King, or a run starting with a King, can be moved to an empty column.
• Foundations are built one card at a time, up in the same suit.
• When the stock runs out, the waste is turned back into the stock. In Klassik Solitaire you can go through the stock as many times as you like.

In Draw 1, one card is turned from the stock at a time and every stock card becomes playable. The game is easier and more deals can be won.

In Draw 3, three cards are turned at once and only the top one can be played. You reach the lower ones only after playing the top card. This is the traditional, harder version. You choose the mode in Klassik Solitaire’s settings.

You win when all 52 cards are on the foundations. When the stock and waste are empty and every tableau card is face up, Klassik Solitaire moves the rest of the cards to the foundations for you. Not every deal can be won even with perfect play, so getting stuck is not always your fault. Then undo some moves and try another way, or start a new game.

• Uncover face-down cards first, especially in the longest columns.
• Don’t empty a column unless you have a King to move there.
• Don’t rush low cards to the foundations if you still need them in the tableau as a place to build on.
• Play from the tableau before the stock: a tableau move reveals a new card, a stock card does not.
• In Draw 3, think about what the next three cards will reveal before you play from the waste.

How do you play Klondike Solitaire?

What is the difference between Draw 1 and Draw 3?
In Draw 1 every stock card becomes playable and the game is easier. In Draw 3 three cards are turned at once and only the top one can be played, which makes it harder. In Klassik Solitaire you choose the mode in the settings.

Can every game of Solitaire be won?
No. Some Klondike deals cannot be won even with perfect play. If there are no moves left, start a new game.

How many times can you go through the deck?
In Klassik Solitaire as many times as you like. When the stock runs out, the waste is turned back into the stock.

Can you undo a move?
Yes. The Undo button takes back moves one at a time, all the way to the start of the game, including cards turned from the stock. The move history is kept even if you close the app in between.
