Updated 20.10.2026: features checked against the current version of the app. Multi Page Print Master is available for Mac and Windows.
An ordinary printer prints on A4 or Letter paper, A3 at most. A bigger print comes from splitting the image into a grid, printing each tile on its own sheet and joining the sheets together. Multi Page Print Master does the splitting for you: you choose the final size, and the app works out how many sheets you need.
The step-by-step guide and frequently asked questions are on the Multi Page Print Master product page. This article has ideas for what you can print big with a home printer.

Five uses for a large print
1. Sewing patterns and craft templates
A pattern you download has to print at its real size. Enter the final width and height in centimetres or inches, and the app splits the pattern across sheets and keeps its proportions. Print at 100% so the measurements stay correct.
2. Maps and floor plans
A hiking map, floor plan or garden plan is easier to read on a wall or table than on a screen. Nine A4 sheets (3 × 3) make a print of about A1 size.
3. Game boards and battle maps
A board game board or a role-playing battle map can be printed at table size. When there are many sheets, the alignment marks and sheet numbers in the Mac version keep the order clear.
4. Posters from your own pictures
A photo or drawing becomes a wall poster without a large-format printer. The bigger the poster, the sharper the original image needs to be. A rule of thumb: aim for at least 150 pixels for every inch of the finished poster.
5. Teaching materials
A teacher can put a large timeline, map or picture chart on the classroom wall with the school’s ordinary printer.
What the app does
- Opens PNG and JPEG images. On the Mac it also opens a PDF and uses its first page.
- Ready grids from 1 × 1 to 5 × 5 sheets, or your own final size in centimetres or inches.
- Paper sizes such as A4, A3 and US Letter, and your printer’s margin: inkjet, laser, photo inkjet or borderless.
- On the Mac: overlap (up to 2.54 cm / 1 in), crop and alignment marks, and each sheet’s number, row and column.
- A preview before you print.
How to get started
- Open the image in the app.
- Choose a grid or the final size, and the paper size.
- Check in the preview how the image splits across the sheets.
- Print, trim the edges and tape the sheets together from the back.

Tips for assembling the sheets
- Print at 100% and single-sided. If the print dialog scales the page, the sheets will no longer line up.
- Use thicker paper if the poster goes on a wall.
- Do a black-and-white test print first to check the layout before printing in colour.
- A paper trimmer gives cleaner edges faster than scissors.
- Tape one row at a time, then join the rows.
Frequently asked questions
How big is a poster made from A4 sheets?
Four A4 sheets (2 × 2) make a poster of about A2 size, and 16 sheets (4 × 4) about A0. The final size is slightly smaller because printer margins and any overlap are taken off.
Does the app work on Windows?
Yes. The Windows version is on the Microsoft Store and the Mac version (macOS 14.6 or later) on the Mac App Store. Overlap, crop marks and opening PDF files are features of the Mac version.
Can I print a PDF on multiple pages?
On the Mac, yes: the app splits the first page of the PDF across sheets. Other pages of a multi-page PDF are not processed.
Do I need a special printer?
No. Any printer works. Choose your printer’s margin in the settings.
How much does the app cost?
It is a one-time purchase with no subscription. The price is shown on the Mac App Store and the Microsoft Store.
